After months of putting together, my book, 30 Before 30 was published and launched. In attendance were the Chairman of Briscoe Ford, Berger paints and SEF schools , Mr Clement Olowokande who served as chairman of the day , Dr Edmond Ayoola, Former ED NNPC and writer of the foreword, Mr Tony Fagbuaro, the chief launcher, Mr Ayo Oluwatosin , GMD Rosabel Group and one of the 3 book reviewers, Ayodele Soyinka , Partner KPMG Nigeria and Tope Agbetuyi, Son of former Spring Bank Chairman.
Also present were Mr Sola Oyekoya, MD Adsofun Concepts LLC, Mr Gbolahan Sogaolu, MD GoFarms Limited and Mr Bimbo Adesina, MD Hidden Treasure Properties
The event took off with the opening prayer and then opening remarks by the chairman. Then the chief launcher took to the stage to officially launch the book. With that done, book reading and reviews kicked off, with Tope Agbetuyi, Simi Onagoruwa and Seun Dawodu taking turns at reading chapters in the book and giving remarks about the author.
The MC, MC Ibk thrilled the guests to seasoned jokes and handled the event well.
I was asked the inspiration behind the title and the content. I explained that it was a life goal to achieve 30 feats before age 30 and this book was one of them. I also further stated that I drew inspirations from 2 sources: daily living and experiences, and the second being from words dished out by my late dad who always sat the family up every night to give out “life nuggets”.
During the question and answer session, the chairman of the event asked when I would write a biography about my father, whom I dedicated the book to. The question threw me off guard but I now know I would work on this in due course.
The editor of the book, Funke Akanmu gave the final and full review of the book since she was the only one privy to full content before the launch. After this, co launchers were called out and donations were made in their numbers. On note was the contribution made by Prince Abimbola Kasali, son of the Moyegeso of Ijebu Itele, who donated and also bought a hundred copies on behalf of the 2005 alumni set of Christ the King Catholic College.
The event ended with the cutting of a cake with my mother, a mini biography of the author by Mr Gbolahan Sogaolu, vote of thanks and signing of books.
Guests then proceeded to my house for an after party.
A big thanks to all the sponsors, donors and the following book reviewers who took time to read parts of the book before the publishing :
